Buyer III – Procurement Specialist

About the role

As a Buyer, you will purchase materials, supplies, machinery, and services that equip Applied Materials' state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. You will work across teams, monitor inventory, manage delivery schedules, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure essential items are procured to support our customers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable fast, high‑quality manufacturing.
• Execute and manage pull‑ins/push‑outs with suppliers to meet MRP demand.
• Lead cross‑functional teams to resolve supply issues with engineering, manufacturing, program managers, and supplier account management.
• Drive purchasing activities to obtain the lowest cost while maintaining quality, reliability, and urgency.
• Lead inventory and expense reduction efforts.
• Manage assigned purchasing projects, controlling cost, schedule, and scope.
• Handle complex and sensitive information with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvement and act as a trainer for department purchasing activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2‑4 years of relevant purchasing or supply‑chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and marketplace competition.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to lead small projects and build consensus.
• Must have SAP experience.
