Building Maintenance Technician 2

About the role

POWDR operates Stovepipe Wells, an 80-room resort in Death Valley National Park, under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service. The Building Maintenance Technician 2 leads and performs advanced maintenance and custodial operations to keep the facilities clean, safe and functional, while supporting oversight, coordination and mentorship of maintenance and custodial staff. The position is on-site; housing may be provided if available.

Key responsibilities

• Repair basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and signage work
• Keep restrooms, offices, buildings, facilities and the outside environment clean, neat and sanitized
• Perform landscaping duties such as weeding, watering, pruning, sodding, grass trimming, fence repair and drainage improvement
• Help maintain signage and infrastructure on buildings and RV sites, and assist the front desk with special requests
• Separate waste for recycling and track metrics, volume and pickup quantities as assigned
• Use the CMIS (Maintain-X) system to enter accurate maintenance information and take part in capital projects
• Follow HazCom, HazMat, SPCC and OSHA safety standards, and perform lockout/tagout
• Take part in required training and meetings, and communicate positively with management, staff and visitors

Required profile

• High school diploma required
• At least 4 years of experience in a maintenance position; hospitality experience preferred
• Experience in landscaping, infrastructure improvements and renovations
• Able to work and thrive in Death Valley National Park
• Flexible schedule, including Saturdays, Sundays and holidays; commuting from Pahrump, Beatty or Las Vegas considered

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $19.00 - $21.00, depending on experience
