Bilingual Referral & Authorization Coordinator – Cardiology

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Bilingual Referral & Authorization Coordinator to support a high‑volume cardiology practice. The role involves managing the full referral lifecycle, verifying insurance eligibility, and securing prior authorizations for specialist office visits while communicating fluently in English and Spanish.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end referral process in Epic EMR, from intake to closure.
• Monitor and manage Epic referral and authorization workqueues daily to avoid care delays.
• Communicate with patients, referring providers, and insurers in both English and Spanish to clarify details and resolve roadblocks.
• Verify patient coverage, plan benefits, and navigate HMO/PPO payer guidelines.
• Obtain timely prior authorizations for specialty office visits and outpatient consults.
• Maintain accurate status notes and patient records in Epic to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of hands‑on U.S. healthcare experience in referral coordination or prior authorization.
• Fully bilingual in written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR, preferably handling referral/authorization workqueues.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial HMO/PPO insurance carriers.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a high‑volume workload independently.

What we offer

• Full‑time contractor position (40 hours/week) with a starting rate of $6 per hour, dependent on experience.
• Monday‑Friday schedule, 8:00‑17:00 PST.
