Behavioral Health Counselor – Pediatric & Adolescent

About the role

We’re seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor to join our integrated care team in Kingman, Arizona. The counselor will provide evidence‑based behavioral health services to pediatric and adolescent patients in a multidisciplinary setting. This is a full‑time, exempt position with daytime hours, Monday‑Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and screenings, using DSM criteria to develop diagnoses and treatment plans for pediatric and adolescent patients.
• Provide motivational interviewing, brief interventions, supportive therapy, and counseling to patients, families, and groups.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, delivering written reports, phone consultations, and care coordination.
• Document clinical notes, registries, and collaborative care notes in the EMR system in a timely manner.
• Participate in patient‑care team meetings, program updates, and staff education initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a behavioral health field (e.g., Professional Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling, Substance Abuse Counseling).
• Current licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or Red Cross.
• DPS Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel locally to other KRMC facilities as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and email.
