Before/After School & Recess Educator – Northwest Chicago

About the role

Apollo After School is seeking enthusiastic educators to provide before‑school, after‑school, and recess care for elementary students in Northwest Chicago. The position is seasonal, following the 2026‑2027 school district calendar, and offers flexible schedules across multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver a high‑quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school day.
• Assist with implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans as needed.
• Ensure the safety and security of all children enrolled.
• Maintain a consistent routine, support homework completion, and foster student engagement.

Required profile

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; degree in education valued but not required.
• At least one year of experience working with school‑age youth (ages 4‑10) in a school or after‑school setting.
• Ability to command respect, run a classroom independently, and collaborate with peers.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, patience, and a genuine passion for children’s development.
