Baseball Analytics Associate

About the role

The Baseball Analytics Associate provides part‑time analytical, reporting, and visualization support to the Colorado Rockies' Baseball Operations and Research & Development teams. This position is ideal for a current student or early‑career analyst eager to apply data‑driven methods to baseball strategy and player evaluation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and distribute advance scouting reports and monitor daily lineup changes, roster moves, and transactions.
• Conduct ad‑hoc research to inform game strategy, player development, scouting, and league‑wide trends.
• Assist analysts with data preparation, validation, cleaning, feature engineering, and quality checks for predictive modeling projects.
• Develop visualizations, dashboards, and lightweight tools to communicate analytical results to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Translate complex findings into clear written summaries, presentations, and actionable recommendations.
• Provide operational support for recurring reporting, special projects, and time‑sensitive requests across Baseball Operations and R&D.

Required profile

• Current student or early‑career analyst with a strong interest in baseball and data analytics.
• Ability to work independently on recurring reports, data validation, and ad‑hoc research.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
