Associate/Senior Editor – BMC Biomedical Technologies

About the role

Springer Nature is seeking an Associate or Senior Editor to lead the editorial handling of BMC Biomedical Technologies. In this hybrid position you will work across a portfolio of journals, ensuring high‑quality content development and supporting authors, reviewers, and editorial boards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle original research manuscripts, applying critical scientific evaluation to assess quality, novelty, and suitability for publication while managing manuscript selection and peer‑review processes.
• Deliver high‑quality editorial services in line with journal standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to publication timelines.
• Manage and optimise publishing workflows and systems to support efficient manuscript processing, peer review, decision‑making, and publication activities.
• Collaborate closely with authors, reviewers, and editorial board members to maintain a rigorous and transparent review process and foster strong stakeholder relationships.
• Represent the journal in interactions with the research community and contribute to the overall success of BMC’s publishing portfolio.

Required profile

• Experience in scientific editorial work or a related publishing environment.
• Strong understanding of peer‑review processes, research integrity, and scholarly communication.
• Excellent written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a hybrid team across locations.
