Assistant Plant Operator – Power Plant Operations

About the role

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Assistant Plant Operator to support daily plant operations. You will work directly on‑site, operating boilers and auxiliary equipment while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with environmental regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Plant Operator with daily operation and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Investigate instrument readings and equipment performance, reporting inconsistencies to supervisors.
• Perform turbine/generator APC inspections and other critical checks according to established procedures.
• Operate and adjust the demineralization system, conduct water testing, and apply boiler water chemistry adjustments.
• Support APC system operation, adjusting performance to meet or exceed facility averages.
• Maintain accurate logs, documentation, and clear communication of plant status.
• Keep work areas clean, orderly, and safe at all times.
• Complete corporate and plant training programs within prescribed timeframes.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus.
• 2 years of power‑plant operation experience or 3 years of related experience.
• Mechanical aptitude for tasks such as shear‑pin replacement, valve repacking, and equipment inspections.
• Understanding of steam‑generating power‑plant operations and relevant regulatory licenses.
