Assistant Athletic Trainer

About the role

The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the athletic training staff in delivering health and wellness services to student‑athletes at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. This on‑campus position involves assisting with injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation under the guidance of licensed trainers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating and treating sports‑related injuries and illnesses.
• Prepare treatment areas, equipment, and supplies for athletic events and practices.
• Document injury reports, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with university policies.
• Participate in injury prevention programs, including conditioning and education sessions.
• Provide first‑aid and emergency care during practices, competitions, and training sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the athletic training facility.

Required profile

• Current enrollment as a University of Arkansas student or recent graduate.
• Interest in sports medicine, health, or athletic training.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of first‑aid and injury assessment techniques.
• Proficiency in using athletic training equipment and tools.
