Assembly First Level Manager

About the role

Responsible for ensuring the manufacture of completed units by overseeing assembly of components into sub‑assemblies, joining structural assemblies, installing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and conducting testing. The role requires frequent interaction with engineering, management, suppliers and customers to meet product requirements and achieve customer acceptance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the team in developing solutions to complex assembly problems, using ingenuity and creativity.
• Supervise the GMF assembly area, ensuring complex aerostructures are built to production requirements and customer acceptance.
• Oversee component assembly, structural joining, system installation and testing, while interfacing with engineering, suppliers and customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, including cross‑functional collaboration (Quality, Procurement, Supply Chain, Machining, etc.).
• At least 5 years in a leadership or management role, preferably with experience in union environments and collective bargaining agreements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent four years of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace.
• Experience using SAP.
