About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join its Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit. This full‑time, on‑site position provides advanced clinical care, supports rapid decision‑making, and contributes to high‑quality patient outcomes in a fast‑paced emergency setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients in the Emergency Department and Clinical Decision Unit.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Utilize evidence‑based protocols to manage acute and urgent medical conditions.
• Participate in patient triage, disposition decisions, and follow‑up care coordination.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted license as an APRN or PA in the state of Arkansas.
• Demonstrated experience in emergency or acute care settings.
• Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
