Application Support Engineer – New York

About the role

MillTech is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join its new New York office. You will be the first technical hire in the US, providing on‑ground engineering support for the platform during US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate, own and resolve incidents across the platform and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure rapid issue response.
• Create and maintain runbooks, post‑mortems and internal documentation.
• Implement and improve observability through monitoring, alerting and dashboards.
• Automate repetitive tasks to reduce operational overhead.
• Participate in continuous improvement of support processes and applications.
• Train, coach and monitor performance of UK on‑call support members.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in application support and site reliability engineering within production environments.
• Familiarity with SRE principles such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets and blameless post‑mortems.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting (three days on‑site).

Required skills

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms, e.g., AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of SRE concepts including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets and blameless post‑mortems.
