Apparel Designer – Technical & Trend Development

About the role

We are seeking a creative Apparel Designer to support the Director of Design. The role involves researching trends, developing new styles, and producing detailed technical packages for overseas production.

Key responsibilities

• Research market trends, colors, silhouettes, fabrics, trims, and opportunities.
• Create and submit tech‑packs, BOMs, and flat digital sketches for all categories.
• Develop CAD illustrations, print artwork, and re‑colorations as needed.
• Maintain line sheets, design boards, and seasonal development binders.
• Attend fittings, record fit notes, and update tech‑packs, BOMs, and ERP systems.
• Oversee lab dips, wash developments, strike‑offs, and sample approvals.
• Communicate design changes to vendors and ensure alignment with aesthetic and quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum two‑year AAS or college degree in Design; four‑year degree preferred.
• At least five years of experience in apparel design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently on remote days.
• Team‑player attitude with excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience creating detailed tech‑packs and garment construction documentation.
• Knowledge of trend research, print and color theory, and embroidery/embellishment layout.
• Familiarity with Procreate, Google Suite, and ERP development tracking systems.
• Understanding of fully fashioned knits is a plus.
