About the role

Current is a fast‑growing consumer fintech platform seeking an Android Software Engineer to join its mobile team in New York. You will build and own native Android experiences that serve millions of members, directly impacting their financial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch end‑to‑end Android features from concept through production.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers to create performant, intuitive user experiences.
• Contribute to reusable UI components and modular architecture to improve engineering velocity.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews and help raise the bar for architecture and performance.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience building native Android applications.
• Self‑starter comfortable working in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
• Genuine interest in personal finance and fintech products.

Required skills

• Kotlin programming language.
• Android fundamentals: component lifecycles, multi‑threading, persistence.
• Dependency injection using Hilt.
• Jetpack suite: Compose, Material 3, Navigation, ViewModel.
• Modular app architecture, MVVM, unidirectional data flow.
• Gradle module management.
• UI performance profiling and optimization.
