Advancement Director

About the role

The Advancement Director is a strategic, relationship‑driven fundraising professional who will lead and expand CYC’s development efforts. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this role is responsible for creating and executing fundraising strategies that support the organization’s mission and long‑term sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to increase annual revenue through major gifts, individual giving, corporate partnerships, sponsorships and diversified funding.
• Cultivate, solicit, steward and expand relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, board members, alumni and community stakeholders.
• Lead a culture of philanthropy across the organization, fostering collaboration, accountability and alignment with strategic priorities.
• Increase CYC’s visibility by building corporate, alumni and community partnerships that support fundraising initiatives.
• Ensure effective fundraising operations through accurate CRM management, donor tracking, performance reporting, forecasting and data‑informed decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, marketing, public administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional fundraising, development or advancement experience with responsibility for donor cultivation and solicitation.
• Preferred advanced degree and/or CFRE credential.
• 3‑7 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, including major gifts and donor relationship management.
• Experience supervising staff, managing projects and implementing fundraising strategies.
• Knowledge of the Greater Cincinnati philanthropic and corporate community.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with fundraising technology platforms.
