About the role
The Administrative Specialist III supports the Division of Agriculture by coordinating office activities, preparing special reports, and assisting with policy development. This position provides comprehensive administrative support to county staff and agents, ensuring smooth operations across multiple programs.
Key responsibilities
- Organize and prioritize tasks, manage office supplies, and maintain both hard‑copy and electronic filing systems.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, handle agricultural sample shipments, and update calendars with itineraries and events.
- Enter and submit travel claims, postage, copier reports, and other financial records in Workday.
- Provide administrative assistance to agents, including data reporting for Agriculture, Natural Resources, 4H, and Community Development programs.
- Maintain civil‑rights files, meeting minutes, and membership lists, and ensure compliance with file‑retention policies.
Required profile
- High school diploma with at least three years of related administrative experience; an associate degree may substitute for two years of experience.
- Knowledge of mathematics, statistics, research techniques, and computer software; ability to prepare reports, analyze financial records, and develop policies.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Workday for financial and procurement processes.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
