Acute Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant (Full‑Time)

About the role

This full‑time position provides acute and critical care services within a collaborative hospital model. The role works under the supervision of the Medical Director and partners with physicians, nurses, residents and discharge coordinators to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize approved medical practice processes to deliver patient care across acute and critical care units.
• Provide comprehensive care addressing physical, psychosocial and educational needs of hospitalized patients.
• Stabilize critically ill patients, perform emergency interventions, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Educate residents, medical students, staff and patient families, and contribute to staff development.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in nursing (for NP) or Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant studies (for PA) and appropriate state licensure.
• Current certification in BCLS/ACLS (and PALS for PA) and eligibility for prescriptive authority.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and on‑call rotations, with reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with Windows‑based applications, data entry and retrieval systems.

Required skills

• Computer and data‑entry proficiency with Windows‑style software.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (for PA).
• Prescriptive authority as defined by state board.
