About the role

Join the State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities as an Activity Therapist at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus. The role offers a salary range of $35,618.70 to $56,872.73, dependent on experience and education, and follows a day shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate therapeutic recreation programs for clients.
• Provide activities such as sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social events, and arts and crafts.
• Assess client conditions and recommend appropriate recreational activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related therapeutic discipline from an accredited institution.
• Two years of related experience, or one year at the Activity Therapist 2 level or equivalent.
• Current professional licensure/certification required to practice in Georgia.
• Pass required health screenings, including drug test, TB evaluation, and annual influenza vaccination (exemptions may apply).
