Accounting Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the delivery of high‑quality financial services for a diverse portfolio of clients. The role combines analytical review, operational oversight, and team leadership within a fast‑growing outsourced accounting and fractional CFO firm.

Key responsibilities

• Review client financial statements, flagging unusual movements, inconsistencies, or items needing deeper analysis before delivery.
• Manage an end‑to‑end client portfolio, balancing team workloads and ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Provide final‑level review of all deliverables prior to client submission.
• Coach and develop accounting team members to raise overall performance and quality.
• Help establish and maintain quality standards across accounting processes and client work.
• Partner with firm leadership on operational improvements, system enhancements, and workflow optimization.

Required profile

• 8+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years managing teams and client portfolios in an outsourced accounting, CAS, or fractional CFO environment.
• Proven ability to work independently at the manager level.
• Experience supporting clients across multiple industries and business models.
• Strong understanding of full accrual accounting, including accruals, prepaid amortization, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
• Hands‑on experience with payroll, sales tax, and recurring close processes.
• Experience mentoring and developing accounting professionals.
• Strong project and portfolio management capabilities.
• CPA preferred but not required.
