Account Manager – Employee Benefits (Remote)

About the role

The Account Manager – Employee Benefits will oversee IOA’s benefits accounts, working under producer direction. This remote position supports both level‑funded and self‑funded plans and collaborates with shared services during the first months of account onboarding.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring performance targets are met and liabilities are avoided.
• Lead the account team, directing daily tasks for Account Coordinators, monitoring execution, and providing corrective guidance.
• Oversee new business setup, including data collection, client file creation, carrier rate negotiations, compliance audits, and client education.
• Handle renewal processes by verifying client data, coordinating with carriers, performing audits, and delivering training.
• Identify and act on sales opportunities to grow IOA’s business and deliver value‑added solutions.
• Maintain transparent communication with producers and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the employee benefits or insurance industry.
• Active licensing required.
• Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
• Strong organizational, delegation, and decision‑making skills.
• High accuracy when handling large volumes of work.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
