Access Coordinator III – Patient Scheduling & Billing

About the role

The Access Coordinator III serves as a patient resource for scheduling and billing inquiries, ensuring accurate data collection, timely billing, and smooth appointment coordination across multiple clinics.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate appointments using hospital systems, providing visit notifications.
• Collect co‑pays, deductibles, and payments, and conduct insurance verification and benefits explanations.
• Perform pre‑registration, update patient information, and gather outside medical records.
• Assist other teams, greet the public, answer phones professionally, and resolve conflicts.
• Attend required training, staff meetings, and participate in orientation of new staff.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three years of customer‑service experience in registration, billing, or scheduling within a healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, telephone etiquette, and basic computer/keyboard skills.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Preferred: CHAA certification and a Bachelor’s degree.
