Vice President of Strategy – Energy Industry

About the role

The Vice President of Strategy will shape the long‑term direction of an energy organization, guiding growth, profitability and the transition to clean‑energy markets. Reporting to the CEO or Chief Strategy Officer, this senior leader partners with finance, operations, engineering and business development to define and execute corporate strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead enterprise‑wide strategic plans aligned with corporate objectives.
• Analyze market trends across oil & gas, utilities, renewable energy, power generation and infrastructure.
• Identify and evaluate growth opportunities in decarbonisation, hydrogen, battery storage and grid modernisation.
• Lead strategic planning, digital transformation and organisational growth initiatives.
• Oversee mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic investments, including due‑diligence and integration planning.
• Build financial models, forecasting tools and investment analyses to support capital allocation.
• Monitor regulatory developments, ESG requirements and geopolitical risks affecting the energy sector.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to drive ESG, sustainability and energy‑transition strategies.

Required profile

• Senior executive with extensive experience in energy‑sector strategy, M&A and corporate development.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale strategic planning and transformation programmes.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate market intelligence into actionable plans.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills across C‑suite, finance, operations and legal functions.
