Vice President of Physician Services

About the role

The Vice President of Physician Services will lead the UHS Physician Services group (Independence Physician Management). Reporting to senior corporate leadership, this executive will shape strategy, oversee operations, and ensure integration of physicians across UHS acute‑care facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and oversee strategic and operational performance of UHS physician practices.
• Create and maintain processes covering financial management, human resources, planning, marketing, information, risk, governance, and clinical operations.
• Lead senior hospital teams and participate in medical staff and governance strategic planning sessions.
• Coordinate preparation of annual operational and capital budgets and provide monthly performance reporting.
• Monitor physician employment and professional service agreements, ensuring compliance and contract updates.
• Implement corporate strategic initiatives to meet program goals and objectives.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in physician services or healthcare operations.
• Strong understanding of financial, HR, risk, and governance functions within a multi‑specialty network.
• Ability to collaborate with hospital senior teams, medical staff, and corporate executives.
• Experience managing large provider networks and multi‑site operations.
