UI/UX Instructor for Virtual Workshop

About the role

Dexian Talent Development is looking for an experienced UI/UX designer to lead a four‑week virtual workshop for recent graduates of the Detroit Apple Academy and Renaissance programs. The role is part‑time, remote, and focuses on hands‑on skill development, portfolio creation, and job‑readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver curriculum covering Figma workflows, accessibility standards, project‑based design exercises, and portfolio presentation.
• Facilitate engaging live sessions on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings (6‑10 PM ET).
• Create practical, reusable teaching materials suitable for a four‑week schedule.
• Guide learners through hands‑on projects and provide constructive feedback.
• Support students in developing portfolio‑ready work and presenting it effectively.

Required profile

• 3–4 years of professional UI/UX design experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate design practice into learner‑centered instruction.
• Prior teaching, mentorship or coaching experience preferred.
• Comfortable facilitating virtual sessions for adult learners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Figma.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG.
