Technical Advisor II – Emergency Nutrition

About the role

The Technical Advisor II – Emergency Nutrition provides expert guidance to regional and country teams on designing and implementing high‑quality emergency nutrition programs. Working within Catholic Relief Services’ quality standards and donor requirements, the advisor helps ensure interventions are effective, adaptive, and innovative across the globe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate agency‑wide strategies, standards, tools, and best practices for emergency nutrition, integrating gender, protection, and disaster risk reduction.
• Offer technical solutions to regional and country teams, both remotely and on‑site, for program design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Lead technical design of large or complex proposals, define monitoring systems, and align donor strategies with CRS approaches.
• Strengthen capacity of staff and partners through training curricula, workshops, mentoring, and coaching.
• Manage knowledge by collecting and analyzing data, evaluating projects, documenting impact, and sharing lessons learned.
• Build and maintain relationships with donors, peer organizations, research institutions, and participate in nutrition forums.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience applying technical principles in emergency nutrition.
• Broad understanding of related sectors to support cross‑sectoral integration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and adapt solutions to varied contexts.

Required skills

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
