Tax Consultant

About the role

Valexus Consulting PLLC is seeking its first internal Tax Consultant to support venture capital funds and their stakeholders. This hybrid role in Philadelphia offers deep exposure to federal, state, local, and international tax matters affecting VC investment structures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare year‑end tax workpapers, including transactional and financial‑statement analysis.
• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for SPVs, blockers, general partnerships, and related entities.
• Prepare quarterly tax estimates and manage tax filings coordinated with external firms.
• Analyze foreign entities and cross‑border structures for proper tax reporting.
• Gather and organize information related to tax positions and compliance.
• Conduct technical research to identify tax issues, planning opportunities, and solutions.
• Work directly with VC clients and service providers on tax planning, strategy, and compliance.
• Support various firm and client needs as the organization grows.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in asset‑management tax, public accounting, or a related tax discipline.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to accuracy, quality, and professional integrity.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel proficiency, including complex spreadsheets, formulas, lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience with GoSystem Tax RS or similar professional tax‑preparation software.
• Working knowledge of partnership tax (Subchapter K) and familiarity with venture‑capital, private‑equity, or investment‑fund structures.
