Supply Chain Technician – Hospital Materials Management

About the role

Join Ochsner Health as a Supply Chain Technician and play a vital part in keeping our hospitals fully stocked with the supplies and equipment needed to deliver exceptional patient care. You will receive, inspect, and distribute materials across multiple clinical and administrative areas while maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect shipments, verify bill of lading, and record deliveries.
• Maintain inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and complete year‑end inventories.
• Organize delivery carts, deliver supplies according to receiving reports, and obtain signatures for each delivery.
• Decontaminate reusable medical supplies and equipment.
• Assist with special requests, general housekeeping, and ensure storeroom cleanliness.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs for non‑purchase‑order deliveries.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license (required for vehicle operation).
• Forklift certification within 30 days of hire (required for Warehouse District Row location).
• Ability to travel between facilities and work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts.
• Preferred experience in materials management or a healthcare environment.

Required skills

• Forklift operation (certified).
• Computer literacy – proficiency with inventory software, web‑based applications, and general office tools.
