About the role
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking a Stationary Engineer to ensure safe and reliable operation of its high‑pressure steam boilers, chillers and associated plant equipment. The role supports campus facilities by providing steam, heat and cooling to multiple buildings in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Start, pre‑heat, and operate high‑pressure boilers and chillers, opening and closing valves to regulate power output.
- Inspect and maintain steam lines, plumbing, pipes, cooling towers, fan coils, heaters, pumps and feed‑water tanks.
- Monitor temperature, pressure gauges and water levels to guarantee optimal operating conditions.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and respond to equipment alarms or malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid high‑pressure Boiler Operator License (or equivalent).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work flexible shifts as needed.
Required skills
