Social Media Manager

About the role

Discord’s Social team is looking for a social‑savvy storyteller to bring the brand to life across owned channels. You will shape content strategy, support product launches, and keep Discord’s voice fresh for a global gaming community.

Key responsibilities

• Own and lead the daily operations of Discord’s social content calendar, including copywriting, asset coordination, scheduling, and posting.
• Develop and execute social media activations that support product launches, go‑to‑market initiatives, and broader business goals.
• Partner with Product, Creative, and other cross‑functional teams to deliver on‑brand, platform‑optimized content.
• Submit, refine, and manage creative briefs and asset requests for the creative team.
• Track and analyze social media KPIs, surface insights, and turn data into actionable recommendations.
• Stay on top of content trends, hypothesize audience reactions, and inform strategy.
• Source and manage contractors or freelancers to support asset production as needed.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of social media experience, preferably at a consumer‑tech, gaming, or entertainment brand.
• Hands‑on experience using Discord and a genuine understanding of its communities.
• Passion for internet culture and a strong instinct for trending content.
• Working knowledge of the gaming landscape, its culture, key players, and audience behavior.
• Proven ability to coordinate cross‑functional content projects and meet deadlines.

• Proficiency with major social platforms: X/Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Discord.
