Senior Systems Engineer - SLBM Fire Control

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to assist and lead Fire Control System Development for the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) program, supporting its customer in Dahlgren, Virginia. The role involves exploring new technologies, software, hardware and development tools, advising the Government on new fleet capabilities and helping design and review the Navy's new system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering support for evaluating new concepts and designs for SLBM groups at NSWCDD, supporting Strategic Systems Programs
• Facilitate SLBM meetings and design reviews, and coordinate with other engineering and management disciplines
• Perform analysis and review tasks on new designs and implementations of the SLBM Fire Control System
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and design artifacts
• Liaise directly with customers at all levels and verify compliance with engineering documentation standards for SLBM developments
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, scientific or technical discipline, or ten years of demonstrated subject-matter expertise
• Ten years of professional systems engineering experience on a DoD major strategic, platform, weapon, combat, command and control or fire control program, including five years as a team leader developing requirements, top-level designs and system architectures for software-intensive systems
• Active Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required); Top Secret clearance preferred
• Preferred: experience with Strategic Systems Programs or other SLBM organizations supporting Fire Control System development
