Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing to lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for direct materials. This onsite position in Fort Worth, Texas, reports to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, COE and plays a key role in shaping procurement strategies for medical‑device and pharmaceutical products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing initiatives aligned with COE procurement strategies.
• Source direct materials, including electronics, resins, molding, packaging, and medical‑device equipment.
• Identify cost‑effective and alternative suppliers, bridging discussions between Asia and US sites.
• Design and execute RFPs, benchmark contracts, and participate in negotiations.
• Apply advanced analytics (predictive modeling, machine learning, scenario modeling) to uncover trends and opportunities.
• Present findings and recommendations to executive stakeholders and senior managers.
• Lead cross‑functional collaboration with Procurement, Engineering, Materials Management, and Executive Leadership.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (e.g., high school + 15 yrs, Associate + 11 yrs, M.S. + 4 yrs, PhD + 3 yrs).
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, preferably in medical‑device or pharmaceutical industries.
• Fluent English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking).

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of electronics, resins, molding, packaging, and medical‑device equipment.
• Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SAP BI, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with predictive modeling, machine learning, and scenario modeling techniques.
