Senior Auditor

About the role

The Campaign Finance Board, an independent New York City agency, seeks a Senior Auditor to lead complex audits of political campaigns. This role ensures compliance with the Campaign Finance Act and Board Rules, safeguarding the integrity of the city’s matching‑funds program.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex compliance, investigative, and financial audits of political campaigns.
• Analyze financial records and disclosure statements for desk and field audits.
• Conduct audits in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and internal programs.
• Manage a team of auditors, overseeing caseloads, deadlines, and coordination with other CFB units.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate auditors.
• Participate in audit team planning activities, especially post‑election.
• Work overtime as needed to meet audit timelines.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in governmental or public‑sector auditing.
• Strong knowledge of campaign finance regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to lead and develop audit teams.
• Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
• Willingness to work overtime to meet critical deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
