Senior Accountant (Contract, 3-6 months)

About the role

This contract position within Nintendo of America’s Accounting & Reporting department supports moderate to complex financial functions for a 3‑6 month period. The Senior Accountant will develop projections, ensure accurate reporting, and help improve internal controls while working closely with both finance and IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and analyze financial projection information based on historical trends and future forecasts.
• Assess and recommend appropriate accounting treatment for moderately complex transactions, ensuring accuracy and process integrity.
• Identify and implement improvements to business processes and internal controls to maintain GAAP, J‑SOX, and tax compliance.
• Execute month‑end, quarterly, and annual closing activities, including accruals, adjustments, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc financial and management reports.
• Evaluate the impact of new or modified GAAP on existing processes.
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting systems, methods, and procedures related to production activities.
• Collaborate with IT on development, testing, and rollout of accounting system enhancements.
• Provide guidance and coaching to less experienced team members as needed.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• In‑depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and related procedures.
• Experience with financial statement analysis.
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting with regular onsite presence in Redmond, WA.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Oracle EBS (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and J‑SOX compliance.
• Experience in financial reporting, month‑end close, and variance analysis.
