Research Technician Specialist

About the role

Join the Performance Materials division in Wyandotte, MI as a Research Technician Specialist. You will support the PM Research and Development Group by conducting research, testing, and data collection for polyurethane processing and product development.

Key responsibilities

• Blend chemicals into formulations for machine and customer trials.
• Conduct research, testing, and data collection related to polyurethane processing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues on polyurethane processing equipment.
• Maintain, operate, and repair laboratory equipment such as mixers, pumps, and mix heads.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with equipment upgrades or modifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• High School Diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Chemistry preferred.
• 8‑10 years hands‑on experience in polyurethane processing and production.
• 3‑5 years experience programming polyurethane equipment (highly desirable).
• Ability to work safely with Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and Tolylene diisocyanate (TDI).
