Registered Nurse Telephone Triage

About the role

This position provides nursing support to patients over the phone, delivering professional triage and health advice using established protocols. The RN will assess callers, guide them to appropriate care levels, and supply follow‑up information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and transmit medical documentation accurately.
• Conduct non‑judgmental triage using the nursing process, specific protocols, and approved resources.
• Direct callers to the appropriate level of care and provide health education based on assessment skills and self‑care guidelines.
• Select and deliver suitable follow‑up materials.
• Offer safe, effective, and professional care‑related advice.

Required profile

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
• Registered Nurse credential from the Michigan Board of Nursing, obtained prior to start date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing school or equivalent professional licensure at time of hire.
