Registered Nurse – PCU Float (13‑week Contract)

About the role

This 13‑week contract position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) assigned to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float pool at Banner University Medical Center (BUMC) in Tucson, AZ. The role is night‑shift (36 hours per week) and begins on 01 June. The RN will support multiple adult‑health units across two campuses, providing flexible coverage where needed.

Key responsibilities

• Float between Observation, Med‑Surg, PCU, IMC, Emergency Department and PACU as directed.
• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to adult patients with inpatient orders awaiting bed placement.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on both BUMC‑Tucson (Level I Trauma, 625 beds) and BUMC‑South (Level IV Trauma, 245 beds) campuses.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.

Required profile

• Current RN licensure in Arizona.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma or large‑hospital setting.
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast‑paced float environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
