Registered Nurse – PACU (Full-time, Variable Shift)

About the role

Join UT Health Tyler as a full‑time, variable‑shift Registered Nurse in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide professional, patient‑centered care to individuals recovering from anesthesia in a high‑volume, Level 1 trauma and stroke center.

Key responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to deliver and coordinate patient care for a designated group of PACU patients.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, airway status, and recovery progress, intervening as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary staff to ensure safe transitions from the operating room to the recovery area.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher.
• Current Texas RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 14 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Trauma certification (TNCC, ATLS, or TCAR) within one year of hire.
• Preferred experience in PACU, ICU, ER, or other acute‑care settings.
