Registered Nurse - Emergency (South)

About the role

Under the direction of the Emergency Services Manager, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in the emergency department, applying the nursing process and professional standards. This role involves pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative care, patient education, and life‑support interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Deliver pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative nursing functions.
• Document and maintain accurate patient records.
• Maintain a safe environment, equipment, supplies, and aseptic technique.
• Provide patient education and act as a patient advocate.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to develop individualized care plans.
• Administer IV medications, parenteral nutrition, and blood products while monitoring patient response.
• Participate in performance improvement and supervise delegated tasks.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Current Louisiana RN license.
• CPR certification (ACLS and PALS preferred).
• At least one year of RN experience in emergency services preferred.
• Ability to operate complex medical equipment and care for patients from adolescent to geriatric ages.
