Public Health Advisor

About the role

The Public Health Advisor will support the CDC Global Health Center by planning, developing, and implementing public health initiatives that align with organizational goals. This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and works closely with international programs in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, and Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute public health programs and initiatives at the country level.
• Oversee multi‑component programs, set priorities, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with senior officials, international partners, and stakeholders to coordinate policy and strategic actions.
• Lead and supervise multidisciplinary teams, assign work, evaluate performance, and support professional development.
• Prepare and deliver oral presentations, written reports, and other communications to convey program outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑14 level in the Federal service.
• Strong knowledge of public health program design, implementation, and evaluation in state, local, and international settings.
• Experience managing large‑scale health initiatives, budgets, and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to work with senior officials and international partners.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
