Plant Training Specialist – Manufacturing

About the role

The Plant Training Specialist will design, update, and deliver training programs for hourly employees at our Opelousas facility. This role ensures that staff receive the right learning at the right time to support growth, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and revise training content, materials, and assessments for various plant departments.
• Facilitate training using classroom, hands‑on, virtual, and electronic methods.
• Validate knowledge transfer through assessments and track completion, qualification, and re‑certification.
• Maintain skills matrices, talent development tools, and training records.
• Provide status updates on training progress to the HR manager.
• Conduct employee skill evaluations and support new‑hire training assessments.
• Manage in‑house training facilities and equipment.
• Collaborate with EHS, Quality, Refinery, Packaging, Operations and other functions to ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; training certifications are a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, self‑motivated and able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated expertise in training delivery and a commitment to company values.
• Trusted advisor with effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Comfortable presenting information and influencing without formal authority.
