Patient Care Technician (PCT) – Night Shift

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our night shift team at Palestine Regional Medical Center, a 150‑bed acute care hospital in Palestine, Texas. The PCT will support registered nurses by providing basic patient care, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe, comfortable environment for patients throughout the night.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including positioning, ambulation, and personal hygiene.
• Take and accurately record vital signs, weight, height, intake and output.
• Prepare patient rooms for admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring necessary equipment is available.
• Respond to call lights, telephone, and paging systems promptly.
• Perform routine treatments under RN direction, such as enemas, application of heat/cold therapy, and management of restraints.
• Assist with feeding, meal tray service, and documentation of patient care.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment and assist with equipment handling.

Required profile

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work night shifts.
• Basic knowledge of patient care procedures and hospital safety protocols.

Required skills

• Vital sign measurement (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
• Use of basic patient care equipment (bed pans, commodes, restraints).
• Documentation of patient observations.
