About the role
At Alcon, an industry leader in eye‑care products, the Operator III – Molding & Tooling Production (Shift) is responsible for operating complex molding tools and equipment, performing quality inspections and ensuring high production standards on a rotating shift.
Key responsibilities
- Operate molding tools and related equipment with minimal supervision.
- Perform quality inspections using gauges, fixtures and statistical monitoring to ensure compliance.
- Follow work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice.
- Handle materials, operate automated equipment and resolve minor issues.
- Participate in mold changes, collaborate with cross‑functional teams and troubleshoot medical‑device molds.
- Conduct optical tool inspection, assembly, set‑up, targeting, line clearance, mechanical and negative checks, and changeovers.
- Operate the solvent supply and disposal system for production and research.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Complete required training and contribute to overall compliance.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Fluent reading, writing and speaking English.
- On‑site work in Houston, TX with a schedule of Monday‑Wednesday and every other Thursday, 4:45 am – 4:45 pm.
- Travel requirement of 0‑10%.
- No relocation assistance, sponsorship or visa support available.
