Operator III – Molding & Tooling Production

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Operator III to join its Houston manufacturing facility. The role focuses on operating molding tools and equipment, performing quality inspections, and ensuring high production standards for eye‑care medical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Operate complex molding tools and automated equipment with minimal supervision.
• Perform quality inspections using gauges, fixtures, and statistical monitoring to meet compliance standards.
• Follow work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP) requirements.
• Handle materials, conduct mold changes, and troubleshoot medical device molds.
• Carry out optical tool inspection, assembly, set‑up, targeting, line clearance, mechanical and negative checks, and changeovers.
• Operate the solvent supply and disposal system for production and research.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent reading, writing, and communication in English.
• Ability to work Friday–Sunday and alternating Thursday night shifts (4:45 PM – 4:45 AM).
• On‑site work in Houston, TX with up to 10% travel.
• No relocation assistance or sponsorship available.
