Mobile Equipment DC Electrician/Electrical Technician

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Mobile Equipment DC Electrician/Electrical Technician to join ConeTec’s production team in Charles City. The role combines hands‑on installation, circuit design, troubleshooting, and parts sourcing for DC systems on mobile and heavy equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, wire, and terminate DC components such as alternators, batteries, chargers, inverters, controllers and sensors on mobile equipment.
• Design, size and optimise DC circuits for functionality and efficiency.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Select and source appropriate parts, hardware and wiring supplies while controlling costs.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in field and shop environments.
• Integrate electrical work with hydraulic and mechanical systems as required.
• Ensure all work complies with safety, quality and industry standards.

Required profile

• Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Technician or equivalent hands‑on experience (formal licence preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong background in DC electrical systems on mobile or heavy equipment (construction, agricultural, industrial or marine).
• Ability to design circuits, size conductors and calculate loads accurately.
• Experience with alternators, battery banks, isolators and DC‑DC chargers.
• Proven troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills.
• Comfortable working both in the field and in a shop, with ability to lift and install components.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently.
