About the role
Nixon Peabody is seeking a mid‑level associate to join its nationwide Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation team. The position is flexible on location and focuses on health and welfare benefits while also supporting retirement plan and executive compensation matters.
Key responsibilities
- Provide counsel on health and welfare employee benefit plans for a diverse client base.
- Assist with the design, implementation, and compliance of retirement and executive compensation programs.
- Draft and review plan documents, client communications, and regulatory filings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and other practice groups to deliver integrated solutions.
- Manage client matters semi‑independently, ensuring timely and high‑quality deliverables.
Required profile
- 4‑7 years of experience in employee benefits law, with deep knowledge of health and welfare benefits.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work proactively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Commitment to delivering practical, business‑oriented advice to clients.
Required skills
- Expertise in health and welfare employee benefit regulations.
- Familiarity with ERISA compliance and related statutory frameworks.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents and client communications.
