Metallurgical Lab Technician – Sample Preparation & Analysis

About the role

The Metallurgical Lab Technician supports our geochemical analysis team by preparing samples and performing a range of metallurgical tests. The role is based in our Sparks, NV laboratory and involves hands‑on work with specialized equipment and hazardous chemicals.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh, digest, and leach samples using acids and sodium cyanide solutions.
• Conduct analyses with atomic absorption, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy, LECO combustion, and cold‑vapor atomic absorption instruments.
• Operate grinding ball mills, gravity and flotation machines, balances, pH meters, bottle rolls, and perform hand titrations.
• Maintain daily records, logs, and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• Assist other laboratory sections (column lab, wet lab) as needed.

Required profile

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work safely with hazardous chemicals.
• Basic math skills and accurate record‑keeping without constant supervision.
• Team‑oriented attitude with effective oral and written communication.
• Willingness to pass pre‑employment drug screening, background check, and respirator evaluation.
