Medical Receptionist – Physician Services

About the role

The Clinic Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Palestine Regional Medical Center. You will greet, register, and direct patients while ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, verify demographic and insurance information.
• Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
• Answer incoming calls, route calls to appropriate departments, and take messages.
• Collect patient payments, copays, and provide receipts.
• Assist patients with required paperwork and obtain signatures.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre‑authorizations when needed.
• Maintain HIPAA‑compliant confidentiality of patient information.
• Manage patient flow in the waiting area and communicate status to clinical staff.
• Keep the reception area clean and organized.
• Perform general clerical duties such as faxing, scanning, and data entry.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
