Media Research Analyst – English (US) – Freelance

Your primary mission is to ensure algorithms understand not only the entered keywords but also cultural context and user expectations.

Main Responsibilities

• Analyze complex search queries for streaming platforms, music catalogs and app ecosystems, considering regional, age‑group and cultural differences.
• Validate multilingual metadata (release dates, artist affiliations, regional availability, cultural context) to ensure consistent input for AI models.
• Assess relevance of search results using frameworks that incorporate local market nuances and cultural interpretation.
• Apply structured reasoning to edge cases where contradictory metadata or cultural context affects relevance.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to product and data‑science teams and collaborate with international UX, product and engineering teams.

Required Profile

• 2–5 years of experience in media data analysis, digital marketing, user research or a similar role.
• Deep knowledge of the US media landscape: streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube), VOD platforms (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+) and mobile app ecosystems.
• Strong cultural sensitivity and ability to identify meaning differences in search terms across demographics.
• Native‑level English; good understanding of French preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, SQL and data‑analysis tools such as Tableau or PowerBI; critical thinking and methodological rigor.
