Mechanical Engineer III

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to design, develop, and modify mechanical engineering layouts, tooling, and processes that support the full product life‑cycle of advanced semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex mechanical problems with limited supervision.
• Develop, design, and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and specifications for difficult‑scope projects.
• Design and implement custom tooling, fixturing, and processes to enable handling, assembly, and disassembly of components.
• Lead or execute projects, develop key suppliers, and generate mechanical product specifications.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis, and Design for Excellence principles.
