Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Engineer

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Engineer to support production operations at its manufacturing facility in Johns Creek, GA. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and continuously improving MES solutions while ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy MES solutions aligned with manufacturing processes.
• Integrate MES with SCADA, ERP (SAP) and equipment systems.
• Provide front‑line and escalation support for MES‑related production issues, including on‑call duties.
• Perform root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize production impact.
• Support validation lifecycle activities (URS, IQ, OQ, PQ, RTM) and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Ensure MES compliance with FDA, GxP, and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Identify and implement system enhancements for efficiency and usability.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation.
• Train production users and collaborate with Operations, Quality, IT, and Automation teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience (e.g., high school + 8 years, associate + 4 years).
• Ability to read, write, and understand technical documentation in English.
• Willingness to work on‑call as needed.
